Sheldon, dont forget to bend the tabs straight that hold the spring in the top bucket. (That is if the guy that lifted that truck bent them back over when he reinstalled them)

You should just have to twist the coil to get it out of the tabs

Yea that always sucks the big one. Let us know what you find when you do get it apart.

Also a tip, when you get the diff off of the beam drill and tap a drain plug in the bottom of the housing. Best mod i did to my front diff!

k i got the lower spring bolt out im just wondering what tabs you guys are talking about if its on the spring mount on the top because mines all redone up there to no longer has tabs just a solid circle peice that holds the spring so by the looks of it im going to have to use a spring compresser.

Is it a stock spring?

Do you have the shock out and the sway bar dissconected?

Disconnect the swaybar, have someone stand on the hub and push the axle beam down as far as they can (sometimes have to jump on it) and you can get the coil right out. I had 2" coil spacers in mine before it was lifted and I could still easially get the the coil in and out without a compressor. You have to have the truck supported by the frame not the front axle,, so you can make the axle beam go towards the ground.
