 Post subject: gearing

howdy i am looking at a rear end with 3:55 gears but my front is 3:54 would the gears still be fine? or will it hop in 4? the rear end is a ford one and its going into my dodge if there wont be any major problems with gearing any help would be appreciated. thanks

That small of a gearing differance will not be a problem at all. Even from factory some vehicles came with larger gear splits than that (3.50 and 3.55). The difference from 3.55 to 3.54 is nothing to worry about! good luck!
